Greg Rose : Anything With Strings, Vocals
Greg started playing music at an early age. His first instrument of choice was drums. He took lessons in elementary school. When his parents told him they weren't going to buy a set for him he decided to turn his interest to the guitar.
Greg comes from a musical family whose roots are embeded in bluegrass and country western. Once he saw his relatives playing the guitar, he was hooked. He began playing continuously in his early teens. He would practice for hours and hours with an obsessive compulsion developing his technique and sound.
Greg's influences are wide ranging. Jimmy Page, Steve Lukather, Yngwie Malmsteen, Michael Angelo Batio, Eddie Van Halen, Roy Clark, Chet Atkins, Steve Vai, and the list goes on.
Once Greg joined Cimema in the early 80's, he knew that the chemistry worked. " You know you have found the right musicians to work with when you can't wait to get to band practice and you don't want to leave." You can tell by the live performances that Cinema delivers, he is enjoying every note being played.
Greg's favorite guitar is his 1986 P.R.S. Custom 24. His favorite sound generator is his 1978 Marshall JMP 100 watt amp. His amp cabinet holds 4x12 celestion whitebacks which has the "...that's what I hear in my head..." sound. Greg would rather play guitar then eat, drink, or sleep, and he has done that !
Greg has a simple philosophy about music and life, " If it's not fun then you need to change it !"
