I remember when I was about 12. I caught sight of a live band at a High School event, playing a Cars tune called "Just What I Needed" and thought it was the coolest thing. I got a crappy guitar and pos amp for Christmas and did what I could with it. Later, I talked my friends into playing bass, guitar, and drums and we put a band together. Practice space was always a problem and we didn't have a singer so I figured I'd give it a shot. We played all thru school and played live at the High School talent shows.... Pic below... After High School I joined as the lead vocalist for a band called "KryBaby" and opened up for bands like "WrathChild" and "Childsplay" at places like the Capricorn and Seagull Inn. Fun times but I quickly learned that I would have to find a real job lol... and went back to school leaving music on hold. That was the summer of '86.
I picked up again around 1990 as lead vocalist playing college type music with a group called "49 Reasons" based in Chestertown. We played stuff like The Cure, Smiths, Modern English, REM, Crowded House, U2, etc.
After that came to an end, I switched my focus to home recording and later enrolled in the Audio Works Program at Sheffield for a year. Great school and great people there. I took what I learned and built a small multitrack project studio and have been recording at home working on original songs and doing full multitrack covers of my favorite tunes and uploading to YouTube.
When Greg from Cinema told me, a few years ago, that they were down a man, I offered to help out and we've been playin music ever since.
